I have added the photos from Master “O” giving the students their new belts. They can be seen and purchased in our Gallery.

Mater ‘O’ holds a board for Krysten and Wilson to perform a front snap kick to complete their yellow belt tests.
All the students at class completed testing for their next belt advancement. Most of the students needed to break boards to complete their tests.

I had the great pleasure of watching my son participate in Baseball for the first time last night. The Mesquite Recreation Center has started their annual Youth Baseball that will run six weeks. I was very surprised at how well Wilson did considering that he never even touched a bat or glove until last night. All the kids were amazing! No score was kept, the kids are being taught the most important part of sports; It is all about having fun! Looking forward to getting lots of great actions shots during the next six weeks of baseball.

Day 3 started the same as the other two days with warm-ups and laps. Rick Upchurch then broke the kids up into three on three teams and worked all the skills the kids learned the day before.
The best part of the day was the last game where the youth played a basketball game against the coaches and parents. The youth won the game with a final score of 26-22.
The day ended with every participant receiving a basketball, certificate by Rick and Donna Upchurch, and a card for one free scoop of ice cream at Baskin Robins; after which everyone got pizza served from Little Caesars Pizza.
The camp was a success and I look forward to the next camp—Football/Cheer Camp in May—where Rick will teach the youth all the essentials for Football and the Basics. As well as, good nutrition, being a part of something good, and to watch out for your family and community.

On Day 2 you could really see the kids improvement; even from that of the night before. The kids are working really hard and it shows. Rick Upchurch along with Coach Rich Bohne and Coach Vaughn Jenkins are really presenting the youth with a wealth of information.
Watching the older kids, 15 and over is just amazing to see the speed and force that they play with. Day three looks to be lots of fun as the youth will pull everything they have learned together to play a game against the Parents and Coaches. More to come.
